    Hi:
I am trying to research my family hearitage. My Grandfather [Louis Tajc] came to Ellis Island in 1909 and they named him “Deutsch”. He never corrected immmigration - he was just happy to be in America. My father told me this before he died and I want to pass on my roots to my children and grandchildren.
My grandfater was a sausage maker and married O Tillie Hokr [Kozlov, South Bohemia near the city of Ceske Budejovice] in NYC around 1911. I have a good history of Hokr. I know they were both Czech because they spoke the language to each other. My grandfather and father invented SPAM [Ft Dodge, Iowa - 1938/1940] for the US Army during WWII.

I am 67 and had 2 heart attacks and a pacemaker plus many TIA strokes. I have this urge to find out about my family background. I have so little to pass on to my kids about my fathers side of the family tree. If you can help - so be it!
